I made CUPS 1.7rc1 (see http://www.cups.org/)
as source package "cups17rc1" in "home:jsmeix".
Note what I wrote in comment#28 above:

Currently cups-filters fails to build for openSUSE_Factory.
I am afraid currently I do not have time to work on it.
