how to remember printing parameters for PDF

Asked by Pat Coyne

I'm printing all my paycheck stubs from a web service to PDF and saving to my disk.

I don't want to repeatedly change the same settings to landscape format, PDF (not .ps files), check box to include images, select the receiving folder, supply a filename, etc.

How can I set all of these parameters (once!) and use them while printing, without having to keep setting them over and over?

install cups-pdf. it's just another printer driver.
when you print, select PDF as your printer. you'll have the same setup options you have for other print drivers and you can set your options there.

thanks, that works!

I had ghostscript-cups loaded, and probably giving me the print to pdf functionality I needed.

after loading cups-pdf I got two printers, PDF and PDF1. PDF was being Shared but not Enabled, and PDF1 is Enabled but not Shared. Hmmm, not sure about the why's of it all, but thanks again marcus!!
