Kernel update: lvm device name (/dev/disk/by-uuid/$FOO) does not begin with /dev/mapper/

Asked by Einar Sjurso

Hello, today I build 2.6.36.2 from mainline and cryptsetup doesn't seem to like that.

The initrd.img seems to contain everything needed, I didn't change anything. The previous kernel still boots fine. I can't seem make out any missing modules within busybox.

Any advice? Is this question even "allowed" here since it's not an Ubuntu kernel?

This seems to happen during init-premount
lvm device name (dev/disk/by-uuid/$foo) does not begin with /dev/mapper
cryptsetup: evms_activate is not available.
Waiting for encrypted devices... ... done
check cryptoopts=source= bootarg cat /proc/cmdline
or missing modules, devices: cat /proc/modules
ls /dev
