Try right-click on the speaker icon on the taskbar by the clock "Open Volume Control" the mixer gui should have a Preferences button that youcan use to open a few chnnels at a time to make sure they're not muted or set too low volume. Otherwise there's just this ..

ok i think i know whats wrong now, my comp isn't sending power to the guitar so the guitar doesn't send anything to the comp, but the only way i can think of to get power to the guitar is a pre-amp which i think is expensive, any other suggestions?

You can use the channel out of any cheap small amp (not the headphone out). You'll need to get a converter for the cable so the cable end is the size of the mic in on your soundcard or motherboard if you don't have a soundcard. They are very cheap and easy to find. Radio Shack probably has them for less than 5$. After you plug the guitar->amp>soundcard, open jack, start it, open Jack EQ (install thru synaptic if you don't have it) and set the right and left ports (should be capture 1 and 2 for IN and playback_1 and 2 for OUT). Adjust your volume on the amp and guitar and make sure that your volume isn't muted in the control bar. This should let you play and record as long you have all the libs and packages. If you have Intrepid you should have them already. Now, as far as Creox goes.... still not much luck for me! Good luck, if you get creox working good post what you did. I can get it to work somewhat, but I have no control of any of the effects.

Can you help with this problem?
