RM asking confirmation before deleting system directories

Asked by lucianoloder

Hi to all

Recently I removed acidentally my /sbin directory, and after a little cha with some friends, they said that they too had the same problem sometime, deleting /etc, or /boot, among other critical system directories.

I then started to look "rm" code, to put a test so that if it detects that it would delete a specific folder, it asks the user, and i ended up with a little patch that can do it. It still is a little bit raw, but it works for me.

Is it interest for anyone?

Thanks

I sort of doubt they'd be interested in this feature, but the correct place to suggest your improvement would probably be on the coreutils mailing list:

Can you help with this problem?
