what do i need to do to enable ubuntu 8.04 visual effects

i have this graphics card "3dfx Voodoo3" and as many people out there i get the mentioned could not be enable.
Question: what do i need to do to enable visual effects if posible

the voodoo3 graphics card is *extreamly* old (nine years old now) and it will not be able to use the visual effects. you need to get a newer graphics card

ubuntu uses compiz fusion by default, beryl is a dead project and should never be used (all functionality from it was merged into compiz fusion). but no, your graphics card cant handle either of them
