compiz issue

i have ubuntu 8.04 and installed compiz. when i try to click a box the screen jumps up and down and tends to not work after i click something. it seems as if when i click to check a box it gos to full screen and when i click agian back to normal.
any answers?

Hi
By clicking a box I assume you mean on of the boxes in Advanced desk top settings
so that you can get come effect running.
I had that problem when I had the screen resolution to big I was a monitor problem so I was told.
This is what I was told to do and it worked
press ALT and F2
box will appear, type in to it
gksudo displayconfig-gtk (click Run)

If you can find you screen model great! click it and the screen size, in my case it was not there I click the make (Compaq) and the size (1024) which was at the top. and all is goo now.
