Menu items order not respected under Unity

Asked by raananb

A menu is displayed on the appliction menu bar as expected on 12.04 + Gnome (as well as on Win & Mac).

Under Unity, the menu is briefly displayed (correctly) on the application menu bar, then copied as is (still correctly) to the Unity menu bar and hidden. The application menu bar seems to be deactivated.

When the menu is sollicited on Unity's menu bar, the order of menu items is not respected. It also changes for successive executions of the application.

Any logical reason for that behavior?

If you mean the bar on the left, did you set it to autohide?

I mean the application menu bar at the top of the screen, where application menus are displayed.

The screen captures at the links below show the two cases.

The correct menu is displayed with Gnome: Years Management Reports About Help
The order is diferent with Unity, and is not always the same.
