If the above solution not working , then open a terminal with keys combination (ctrl+alt+t) and do

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
rm -rf .compiz* .gconf* .config/dconf/ .config/compiz*
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

above command will DELETE ALL YOUR SETTINGS of compiz - wallpaper .. etc . Will NOT HARM your personal files.

Reboot your system , OR Logout and Login.

Thanks
