compiz locked up

when i was in compiz manger my computer locked up and I had to do a hard shut down and now unity is gone and the icons where the time was.... I tried unity --restart and deleting the .compiz folder

Isn't there a config folder for compiz etc in ~/.config

Also try running:

gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/compiz

Then rename / delete the compiz folder there too

Thanks that work....now i'll stay away from the compiz manger
