If you add more distance or viewport distance, is it better or does it just zoom out more?

the viewport distance was set 0.800 i dont want to miss with It but the distance was set at 0.000 I set it to 0.0711 and it zoomed out

i figured it out open terminal and type gnome-panel and the workspace menu is at the bottom right corner in the newly form gnome panel, left click the box, and choose preferences and bam their it is the problem to this question.
