both my top and left panels are missing, how do i get them back? ubuntu 11.04

im usuing ubuntu 11.04 and i was checking out compiz settings and then my top and left panels dissapered. how can i fix this with out reinstalling ubuntu?

Log in with "Ubuntu Classic" or "Ubuntu Classic (no effects)" as your session type (the drop-down menu for this is in the bottom horizontal bar at the login screen--it is accessible after you have specified your username, while you are being prompted for your password). This will give you a functional classic desktop, which you can use to undo whatever configuration changes you made to compiz.
