I have a blank desktop with no unity bar etc after installing CCSM and having a fiddle

Asked by Adi

Sorry chaps, I'm completely new to Linux so i'm stumped.

I recently installed CCSM to try out wobbly windows and 3D desktop cube. After applying a few settings I lost my top bar and the unity tray. I just have a blank desktop.

At first I though I had just zoomed in, but my mouse doesn't go any further than the edge of the screen.

I tried the solutions on the following discussion: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+question/67626

but that didn't work. Is there a way to get it all back to normal?

Sorry if there's too little info to help..

Cheers

"To restore your Ubuntu to the default you have to make changes in the user specific setting which is in the home folder. Open this folder /home/username/ -Files- to see all the hidden files and folder hit CTRL+H command the file manager. Look for this files .gconf, .gconfd, .gnome, .gnome2 delete them from the folder and then at the end log out and log in again, you will see all the default files are created again. Thus it will reset all you default settings."
