cannot move or resize a window with compiz enabled

Asked by Arno Visser

Hi ,

The last few years I have been back and forth between windows and Linux. Lately I just had the feeling to go back to Linux again.
Since I like the look of KDE a bit better, I installed Kubuntu Natty 64bit.
From my first to the last Ubuntu install I, I've always been using compiz/emerald.
Natty proved a bit of a problem concerning that. With a bit of searching I got everything installed (even emerald through git),
when I ran into the following problem. Compiz runs okay, Emerald works.....only with these two enabled I can't move any window.
I just can't pick them up by the title-bar and move them. Also resizing is out of the question. The minimize/maximize close buttons still work. Even with only Compiz alone (and kde4 window decorator as window decorator) I get the same problem.
So I can click with my mouse until my finger goes numb, but it doesn't pick up the intended window.
Has anyone had the same problem? And more important does anyone know how to solve this?
There is no fun in wobbly windows if you can't pick up the window to wobble it, is there?
Thanks a lot

I have been using Ubuntu and compiz for some time, but I have never known these settings were in there...:)
It just always worked right.
