making cube semi permanent

Asked by larryk335

When I use the middle button to get cube, as long as I hold the button down the cube is visiable to move around. When I release the button I lose the cube and return to flat desk top. Is it possible to get the cube to stay on screen even after I quite holding down the button. With the button down I can move cube around--move from side to side but when I release the button I lose the cube. It would be great if the cube was on the screen that I could go to at anytime and change things that I wanted. your help is appreciated Larryk

The return to flat desktop means it displays a certain workspace, but the cube still does exist. If it still would circle you couldn't work on it.
You only visualize the cube when circling it around.
However, you can make the cube transparent to visualize it is a cube while displaying a certain workspace.
e.g. I have several options to circle it:
- with middle mouse button on empty space of desktop, scrolling up and down switches workspaces
- ctrl+alt+arrow left or right switches workspaces
- ctrl+alt+left click cube circles, leaving ctrl+alt but keeping left click freezes the cube in any position

Since not sure about your question, examples.
There one can see it_is a cube but displays a certain workspace.

There cube is rotating and kept at a certain position, but currently one is unable to work on a workspace.
