why ubuntu 10.10 need deinstall compiz package for no more crash?

i install ubuntu 10.10 in my machine with intel integrated display card,
and crash definitely in half an hour ,
finally i deinstall compiz package, the system no more crash.

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C display

You don't have to remove compiz, you can just press ALT+F2 and run:

metacity --replace

You can make a startup item to run the command so that compiz gets disabled at login.
