How to use compiz as the window manager instead of mutter (ubuntu 10.10)

okay my problem is that i want to know how to use compiz as the default window manager in unity?
i'm using ubuntu 10.10 maverick meerkat
i want to use compiz as the default manager 'cause mutter is so slow when i'm using unity
i've been reading that is a bug on intel gma 945 / 950 graphics
and i don't want to reinstall a desktop version cuz my internet connection is slow and takes so long when downloading
so please Help....

netbook :

LANIX NEURON LT
INTEL GMA 945
INTEL ATOM 1.6 GHz
1 GB RAM
160 GB HDD

If you use natty you may get to use compiz but Unity needs mutter as far as I am aware

as your questions, it's mean you run ubuntu 10.10 Netbook edition right? You can switch to desktop edition and use compiz as window manager. Mutter is needed as WM if you use unity interface on 10.10 netbook edition

yeah im running ubuntu 10.10 desktop edition and installed unity but i dont want to use gnome i wanna use unity but mutter is so slow so what i want to do is replace it for compiz as the default WM
