GUI crashes: added a top panel with auto-hide

Asked by Siifr

Was messing around with panels, and added another one to the top.
Put auto-hide on it to see if i could have it handle the window list.

Now the gui crashes and the top bar is completely glitched out.

How can I either reset the gui without re-installing, or can there be something else done.

I found on the internet that by tipying "sudo debconf gnome-panel" on the terminal and rebooting, you get the default gnome panels back. Try doing it and restarting the computer.

Hope it works!

I ended up using
rm -rf .gnome

and allowed the gui to repopulate the folders.
It worked!
