ok this is going to sound very VERY condescending but I can only make it clearer this way:

on the keyboard press the CTRL key in the bottom left of the keyboard and hold it down, then to the right of it there is the ALT key, hold that down too. On the second row of the keybord between the R key and the Y Key there is the T key, press that and a little black box will appear, you can now let go of ALL keys

Click back into the browser and the black window will vanish.

If you use your mouse now and left click (for a right handed person) or right click (for a left handed person) at the left of the below command, then still holding it, move your hand to the right so the text changes colour. You have now "selected" the text. You can now let go of the mouse button, You can now move the mouse pointer over the selected text and press the opposite mouse button on the text, a small menu will appear and you can click copy. This is the code to use:

dpkg -l | grep compiz

Ok now if you look at the bottom of the screen you will see a few items. One will say "Terminal". Click that and the black box will reappear. If you use the other mouse button (the one you used to bring up the little menu), you can select "paste" and the text you "copied" earlier will appear in the terminal

On the bottom right hand side of the keyboard there is a key which says "Enter", press it

Some text will output. Use the same copy technique from earlier to select the outputted text in the terminal and copy it (see above for how)

If you look at the bottom of the screen you will see a button labelled "Firefox", if you click that you will bring this page back again. Use the scroll bar on the right hand side of the screen and holding the click button down on the mouse to scroll the page down to where you typed your reply earlier, then use the "paste" technique from earlier and the text from the terminal will appear in the page, scroll down the page again and click the button below the box to post the output.
