cursor not changing in 10.04 compiz enable

how to change cursor theme,im using ubuntu 10.04. i heard it was compiz bug or GDM???it works perfect on my 9.04 version..how come it does not work on latest version???i wonder is there any way to change cursor theme when compiz enabled,i read some ideas but dint work for me...now i sad it keeps annoying me and preventing to present my remaster cd to friends...any one can help....

Try:
sudo update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme

In case reboot.
