Sytem log message from colord once a day regarding printer

Asked by Trebacz on 2013-05-25

Starting a couple weeks ago I get a system message from colord (Version 0.2 KDE color daemon) regarding my printer about once a day.

colord: device removed: cups-Officejet_6300
colord: Device added: cups-Officejet_6300

It seems to indicated the device was removed -then readded. Not sure why -or why this just started happening. I opened the color application under System Setting>Hardware>Color. Indeed my printer is listed under color management (news to me). It has no color profile associated with it (though my monitor does). I assume this is just an informational message that I can effectively ignore -or should ask logcheck to ignore. I searched around and didn't find a great amount of information on this package... Is this meaningless "normal" log behaviour? Is this Kubuntu or colord specific?

i suggest you report a bug to alert the devs. They will either mark it as genuine or state it is ok to ignore

Can you help with this problem?
