collectd not available in Ubuntu 22.04

Collectd is missing in the Ubuntu v22.04. I am seeking help with the below questions. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
1. collectd was available on the previous versions of Ubuntu. Is there a reason why it was removed?
2. Will it be deprecated in the upcoming versions of Ubuntu?
3. Is there any alternative to the collectd service?

The reason for the fact that collectd is not available in jammy is bug #1960612

There is already a new package in the development release Ubuntu 22.04 (kinetic), so I assume that it will come back in kinetic.

Bug #1971093 is already covering the problem of collectd missing in Ubuntu 22.04

Suggestions for a solution:
1. manually install the version in kinetic (or the one that was in jammy-proposed)
2. create a PPA with that version
3. request a backport of the version in kinetic to jammy
