/std c++17 needed so cmake should be ugraded

Version 3.5.1 of Cmake doen't recognise set(CMAKE_CXX_STANDARD 17). The higher versions does.

I assume that you are talking about Ubuntu xenial.
There are PPAs with a higher version of cmake for xenial.
Or you could consider upgrading to Ubuntu bionic (18.04).
