What is the reply to the terminal command below?

cat /etc/lsb-release

It is:
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=12.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=precise
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS"

sudo do-release-upgrade

If that fails, try:

sudo do-release-upgrade -p

Both nacentenos and mine systems are configured to accept only LTS->LTS upgrades. Upgrade to version 14.04.1 should be available without `-p` and `-d`, as both options would ignore LTS->LTS settings and upgrade to newest version, whatever that would mean.

[root@rush:~]# do-release-upgrade -c
Checking for a new Ubuntu release
No new release found
[root@rush:~]# do-release-upgrade -cp
Checking for a new Ubuntu release
New release '14.04' available.
Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it.
[root@rush:~]# do-release-upgrade -cd
Checking for a new Ubuntu release
New release '14.04' available.
Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it.

Worked with:
sudo do-release-upgrade -p

I have completed the upgrade successfully, big thanks.

One question, I don see in the settings the entry to check for updates, is this normal in 14.04?

Well, it's workaround, not a solution, but if that suits you.

It's because it's not fully out yet, so you are using the (P)roposed method.

Can you help with this problem?
