How to update virus signatures for clam Tk virus scanner?

Hi,
I am newbie in ubuntu 8.10..
I have installed Clam Tk virus scanner
when i try to update virus signatures, it tells
"You must be root to install updates"
Please help me to resolve this......

You can try to run ClamTK via the Terminal, open Terminal and run "sudo ClamTK" I believe. When ClamTK opens you are root. Update the signature and close ClamTK again, coz running as root is not good for a too long time.

I believe you can also install Freshclam which should update ClamAV while booting the system!
