Updating clamtk 3.11 on Ubuntu 8.10

I installed clamtk 3.11 on Ubuntu 8.10. I did this because I run a dual boot system (windows XP pro SP3). I tried updating clamtk 3.11, but the response I received is "you must be root to install updates." OK, how do I get to root to install updates? In advance, thank you.

easy way goto terminal sudo clamtk you will be prompted for password it is the password you use.

Or update to version 4.x - go to http://clamtk.sf.net and follow the download links. Grab the .deb copy.

Thanks for the link. Tried to use it, but the download links are broken. Know an way around that? Or instructions on how to update through the terminal window? Thanks.
