Clamav - freshclam fails to update

Asked by Halldór Guðmundsson

Freshclam fails to update virus database because version 103.6 is lower than minimum version of 103.7
Is there an update coming to fix this?

Bernard Stafford suggests this article as an answer to your question:
FAQ #3037: “no rolling release”.
Ubuntu only upgrades their packaging after Debian does.
This is to avoid duplicate packaging.
https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/clamav-freshclam
You are using the current version of clamav-freshclam 0.103.6.
There is an additional package you might try.
clamav-cvdupdate (1.0.2-2), ClamAV Private Database Mirror Updater Tool.
https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/clamav-cvdupdate
This package is in the Universe Repository.

I get this too, for a while now! Why is FreshClam looking for a release that is not in production yet?

Debian Sid is now at 0.103.7+dfsg-1 or later. When will Ubuntu resync? Any guidance on using the Debian packages in Ubuntu?

Can you help with this problem?
