Security: antivirus in Linux Ubuntu

As you may have read i am new to Linux (Ubuntu). As anyone any suggestions on a decent Anti Virus Software, i used to have Microsoft windows 7 O S, but was sick of it going wrong, even with paid for Bit-defender Total Security.

You don't need an Anti virus program on Ubuntu Linux. There are no know viruses running on Ubuntu around at the moment.
On the other hand, there are virus scanners for Linux, but they only search for Windows viruses and are used by server admins who are hosting files and emails for Windows users.

So, forget about the antivirus program. Just choose a good user password, it gives far more security.

In the Linux world viruses are pretty much unheard of so you probably don't need any unless you are running a server and have Windows machines to protect.

Provided that you have passwords on all accounts (that change change anything), spend very little time (if any) logged in as root. Ubuntu does not even generate a root account by default; use of sudo is recommended instead.
