Please open a terminal from Applications→Accesosries→Terminal and type:

top

to investigate on which application are hungry of ram and processor resources...

You don't need of any defragmenter disk-cleaner or similar...

Journalized file systems don't get fragmented. Ext3 and Ext4 are journalized but Ext2 isn't and there is a defrag tool for that but thebenefit is minimal. Linux is too much of a hostile environment for viruses to work and your apps run as user onlywhich restricts their impact. You can install clamav and rkhunter to test your OS but I doubt much will be found.

Can you give the output of:

sudo apt-get -y install pastebinit; clear; top -n 1 | pastebinit

Thanks

it doesn't matter that the output is long. the guys need to see what's going on in your system to solve your problem.

Can you help with this problem?
