Delete Ubuntu Internet Security and replace with other

Asked by Mayan Viljoen

Hi there guys,
I am a complete newby on Ubuntu. I have downloaded the latest 2.8 version. I want to replace the Ubuntu Antivirus and Fire wall with ESET's Nod 32. I am also a partner of the ESET company in South Africa. Is this possible and if it is, how can these two applications be removed?
I appreciate your help. Thank you.
Mayan Viljoen.

I downloaded the latest 2.8 version of the Ubuntu Operating system.

The latest 2.8 version of Ubuntu, or in some circles I believe it is referred to as version 10. . . . something.

Sorry to be a nuisance, but may I ask another question? I think Launchpad would like me to join a "group", but I am no sure how to go about it. Are you a group leader? If you are, would you mind very much if I join your group? Can you tell me how to do it?
Thanks!

What makes your questions so difficult to answer is that

1. there is no Ubuntu version 2.8 nor has there ever been. The current version is 10.10.
2. Ubuntu does not have an anti-virus program installed by default since it does not need one.
3. Ubuntu does not have a firewall as a separate entity installed by default since internet access is filtered via the inbuilt Linux netfilter system iptables.

NOD32 is a commercial Slovakian anti-virus program reported to work in Linux. In contrast, Linux users have access to a number of free anti-virus programs if they wish to use them.

Groups are working groups, that means that its members are engaged in a development project. Perhaps you misunderstood.

Can you help with this problem?
