ChucK 1.2.0.8 is pretty old. Can we update to 1.3.5.2?

Asked by Hugh Rawlinson

It'd be super nice to be able to use the newer ChucK features, a version bump to match upstream would be really nice.

I suggest that you create a bug report with a request to package the new version
You might add a reference to http://bugs.debian.org/775341 which is a similar request for Debian.

If there is no significant reason to upgrade a package then it will not be upgraded. Reporting (with details) alerts the devs to changes in the packages that are significant.

Don't get hung up on version numbers. Look at what is actually new in the version. If the difference is small then the package will remain as it is.

Here's a link to the bug report I created: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chuck/+bug/1591145

It includes a reference to the related request for Debian, as well as a summary of relevant changes and fixes in the upstream package (and a link to the full changelog).

Thanks Mark, installing from source is a good stop-gap solution, but I think it'd be good to have an up to date binary package in the repository.
