I have installed Adobe Reader and various extensions for chrome to get it to be able to read PDF files. I still can't read PDF files or download them through Chromium.

Try:

sudo wget -O /usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins/libpdf.so https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8850924/libpdf.so

Close the browser then reload it

Nope. Still get the message "No plugin available to display this content."

Shame, then you will either need to install Chrome (which has the plugin and is where that file is from) or tell Chromium to open PDFs with external reader app. I suggest you run:

sudo rm /usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins/libpdf.so

to get rid of the plugin file

Can you help with this problem?
