How to install Java Plugin on Chromium 10.0.648.133 Browser (Ubuntu 10.10)

Asked by Vlad Omir

Howdy:

Hopefully someone knows the answer to this...

I went to the Java site to see if the JRE plugin was installed on my newly added Chromium browser and found that the plugin was missing...

When I checked the supported configurations list (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/system-configurations-135212.html) it says Ubuntu 8.04 LTS with Firefox 3.09 is supported but there is nothing about Chromium and Ubuntu 10.10...

It looks like my OS and browser of choice are not supported by JRE 6_24...

I'm a complete noob with Chromium although it is pretty quick...

Help?

Just enable the partner repo and run the command given. Once it is installed, restart all browsers and it should be ok, if not we can symlink the plugin to the plugins folder and be fine

Thanks for your time and effort on my behalf...

I will give it a shot later on (looks like it should be a no brainer if the repo is valid)...

Cheers
