8.04 Desktop effects work great with restricted Nvidia driver, OpenGL apps/games fail to start
Example, When I start Chromium from the xterm the last line of output from the process is "Ilegal Instruction"
Every thing on this system was working great with 6.0 with the restricted Nvidia drivers.. (installed directly)

open /etc/X11/xorg.conf
add
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Disable"
