Package Description doesn't mention "Chrome"
When searching the Software Center for "Chrome", you do not find the Chromium Browser which most users may want to find.
Is there a reason why the "Google Chrome" isn't included in the package description?
If not, can you please update the description and mention "Google Chrome" there so that you find that package if you search for it?

It isn't on the repo as yet but you can submit it on:
You can add the chromium daily build PPA and install if you wish:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chromium-
actionparnsip although the poster didn't mention it, they are using Lucid Beta; which does contain the chromium-browser package in the default repo (they where in #ubuntu+1 prior to posting here).
It was suggested that they file a bug against chromium-browser to add the keyword chrome somewhere in the description, so chromium would show in Ubuntu Software Center when searching for "Chrome" -- I don't know if they followed through with that however.

Sorry, but I'm talking about Lucid and there it is in the repos.
The chromium browser will be installale in any currently supported release using the PPA I provided, not Lucid specific as Lucid wasn't specified in the question :D

Chromium is not Google Chrome. Chromium is an open source browser which is in the repos. Google Chrome is a modification of Chromium.
Google Chrome can be downloaded from google.com/chrome - it adds Google's repository to your sources so it can be kept updated.

"Chromium is the open-source project behind Google Chrome"
Therefore Chromium IS chrome, just bleeding edge, the bugs logged in chromium help to fix chrome, once the chromium things get ironed out they are released as chrome but chromiium development will always be used to get feedback to make the browser better

You've actually just provided the solution to the original poster's issue. If the sentence "Chromium is the open-source project behind Google Chrome" was included in the description of the Chromium package it would show up when "chrome" was searched for in Ubuntu Software Center.

Thanks, George, that's exactly what I wanted to say.
So will this sentence be included in the package description?
Sam I have reported Bug #561667 -- Package description does not contain the word "chrome" -- https:/
I also added it as a Related Bug to this Question.
