How to save a thunderbird account password?

Asked by tashi

Hi,

I'd like to know how to save a password for a mail account with Thunderbird? I did the mistake to generate a master password witch I forgot, and so I have to create now a new account, but I don'y know how to tell Thunderbird what is my gmail password for the Imap access...

Could someone please tell me?
Thanks!

When you check your mail, and the window pops up, it should give you an option to save your passwords. If it doesn't, check out:

I do use (for speed mostly) Google Chrome. Could you please have tricks for this program too?

Actually, I think the only way to be sure keeping it would be to save it inside a file, for instance in the home directory, on in /tmp/...

So the problem is now finished, I'll just think about saving this pass in a particular file somewhere, and with a precise name!

But thanks Cameron W. for your answer, I keep the link now!
