Which branch should be targeted for submitting patches?

Asked by Archisman Panigrahi

I have made a branch (https://code.launchpad.net/~apandada1/ubuntu/+source/cheese/+git/cheese) by incorporating the patch (for lp:1879183) based on this comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cheese/+bug/1879183/comments/3

Now, cheese for Focal has multiple branches, (applied/ubuntu/focal-proposed, ubuntu/focal-proposed, applied/ubuntu/focal-devel, applied/ubuntu/focal, ubuntu/focal-devel, ubuntu/focal) all of which host the same code.

Which branch should I target for proposing this patch? I want it to be released as a update for Focal (and not deferred to Groovy), as it affects all DEs except GNOME.

Edit: The person who first proposed the patch in the PPA is now active, and therefore, I won't have to propose the patch. But I still want to know the answer for fixing bugs in future.

Before you can upload to Gerrit, you need to establish a password that identifies you with the server. Follow the instructions on the password generator page. You need to do this only once. See Using authentication for additional details https://www.krogerfeedback.ltd/

Zacks, can you elaborate what you mean?

I already have a Launchpad account, and have configured GPG and SSH keys.
Also, the link you provided does not seem to be relevant.
