Logitech Webcam not detected on 20.04

I recently upgraded from 18.04 to 20.04. To my surprise, my webcam (Logitech c922 pro) is not detected by the kernel (5.4.0-29-generic). The same camera is however plug and play in 18.04 and works like a breeze

Its not detetcted under lsusb
I tried running sudo modprobe usbhid but it returns no output and nothing happens

dmesg | grep -i c922 shows no output

the only entry where c922 appears to be is lsusb .. no app is recognizing the camera

sudo ls /dev/video* is still empty .. no such dir

all I did was change the port and restarted

For diagnostic purposes try the following:

unplug the camera, wait half a minute
re-plug it, wait half a minute
and then issue the command

dmesg | tail

There is Bug #1626731 reporting similar messages as those in your dmesg output.
In some of the comments it is recommended to install the uvcdynctrl package.

After scouting web, I've inferred that its a driver problem. I cant find anything aroung logitech support forums either. Is there a way around this ?

How is the camera connetced? Plugged in to the computer directly or via some USB hub? USB2 or USB3 port? Already tried other ports?

thats the error thats haunting me , tried all drivers and all modules.

A web search for the "can't set config #1, error -110" message indicates, that -110 might be related to insufficient power supply for the USB device (hence my question whether directly connected or via a hub, etc.)
I have no clue what else can be done with that problem.

it's not, ill try a powered hub once the lockdown is lifted. Apart from that, I feel I just give up .. it's just sad
