how to setup webcam on Hp Pavillion dv6

Asked by Devon Moyer

I recently made the giant leap to Ubuntu from Windows. I failed to check the certified hardware list. It turns out my HP Pavillion DV6 is not in that list. Therefore all my drivers aside of USB do not work. No webcam or audio. Please help!

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

The rule here is to split grouped question to simple one so we try to answer to webcam issue here...

Please install the cheese package then try to use it to check if your webcam is working

To made you audio working please ask a new question from here:
