webcam issues recording

basically the summary says it all, my webcam works perfect for skype and related sites, but when I'm trying to record a video via the cheese webcam booth, it's terribly choppy(great quality just recording in frames), and I know it's got to be maybe something with the drivers because before I switched to Ubuntu 10.10 from Windows 7 starter it recorded fine.does anybody out there in the ubuntu universe know of a solution.

Try luvcview, it works better with some cameras

my webcam is built in and luvcview seems to be for external webcams

luvcview works with my internal camera,did you try it?
