Isb-release: command not found
oem@freekbox:~$ Isb_release -a
No command 'Isb_release' found, did you mean:
Command 'lsb_release' from package 'lsb-release' (main)
Isb_release: command not found
oem@freekbox:~$

Bob (smith13) said : #6

and this is what happened when I did this oem@freekbox:~$ Command 'lsb_release' from package 'lsb-release' (main)
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('
oem@freekbox:~$

Copy the commands EXACTLY

the commands are

lsusb; lsb-release -a

These are lowercase versions of

LSUSB; LSB_RELEASE -A

I gave the EXACT command so you can copy and paste them, if you run bad commands you can break your OS.

try plugging your cam into another usb port and see if it works.
there apparently is a problem with the c500 that makes it require a certain type of usb port before it works.
if it doesn't work, i'd suggest you get a new cam.

Bob (smith13) said : #17

will try, and crap this is the new cam LOL

Bob (smith13) said : #18

what I found out, I plug the cam in and it works with cheese but when I restart my computer it dose not work, did this in every port. also it would work on the skype test but not on a call, but the mic in the cam would work. just no video. but when I restart its off there to. weird hope some one will fig this out some day.

Bob (smith13) said : #19

I plugged in two cams the old one still works, the new one has a mic built in, now when I turn it on some time it turns on the old cam and the next time it pick the new on but the resolution looks like a old tv from 1952.

marcus aurelius (adbiz) said : #20

well, get another cam that's not from logitech. they don't support linux anyways.
