asus webcam doesn't work

i've Ubuntu 10.10

my ASUS K50IJ Webcam doesn't work
i tried the function keys , yahoo video calls & there was no response
what can i do ?

Another problem
i tried to download skybe for linux many times but every time after completion of downloading it doesn't work

If you install and run cheese, do you see yourself?

since i'm new with Ubuntu & not proffesional in dealing with computers

Please install the cheese package and test your webcam...

To install cheese from terminal:

open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cheese

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
