Webcam non-functional in Acer Aspire 5740

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx (Linux 2.6.32-24 Generic) & My system is Acer Aspire 5740 core i5. I dont find anyway to operate my webcam. How do I make my webcam functioning? Please help.

please install the cheese package using the software center and and then open cheese from Applications→sound & video and try your webcam
