My hardware testing gives an error that I don't have an email address when I do!

Asked by ian

When I do hardware testing and go to submit it, it throws me an error that I do not have an email address when I got the smtp port no. from isp. Have no onboard audio on k8mm-v mainboard and I hear that soundblaster cards are no good. (have ct5803.) error message reads: No email address provided, not submitting to Launchpad. What is the problem?

No idea what's the cause, it works here, but there are some bug reports about i-net connection and email.
Example:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hwtest/+bug/221160
Complete list

The last screen of the system testing application (Checkbox) requires you to enter an e-mail in the textbox at the bottom of the window (above the buttons). If you do not enter the e-mail address associated with your Launchpad account, it will complain that you have not entered an email address. This is probably the error you are seeing.

Did help that I made sure that it would work with linux before I ordered it on ebay. Now if I could just figure out why This monster can't suspend or hibernate?

Did not have the checkbox in the beginning but do know. System testing is now giving me email address box. Do not understand why it did not before but problem solved. Still cannot suspend or hibernate?

Assuming it isn't the same system architecture as before.

Please ask separate questions for each issue, thanks.

I ran into this same problem ( I think). I completed the hardware test and when I got to the final page there was box into which I entered my email (for this launchpad acct) and it threw a strange error.

Is there a way to manually submit the test results? I have the generated xml file.
