Why is this named 2.0.1, it is 1.0.1?

This code is nearly identical to chardet-1.0.1 (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/chardet/1.0.1), but it's labeled 2.0.1 (which on pypi is chardet2 for python 3). This was a problem for me when I used pip to install requests, and it installed chardet-1.0.1.
