error communicating with device

Asked by Christian Dillo

Hi,

I'm getting an error message when trying to connect to ITunes and add a book: "error communicating with device." See problem log below. Mac OS 10.7.4 and Calibre 0.8.41.

In Calibre under menu item "Connect/Share" the option "Connect to iTunes" is inactive.

Hope someone can help,

Christian

You are using an old version of calibre.

Your PC is probably experiencing the following bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/calibre/+bug/1012243

I suggest upgrading to version 0.8.65+dfsg-0~ppa1 of calibre.

First make sure you are using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (codename: precise) (not an older Ubuntu release!).

Then follow the calibre installation instructions for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (precise) here:

https://launchpad.net/~n-muench/+archive/calibre

Hope it helps.
