calibre package

On Mac os 10.4.11 calibre can not see device

I've followed Kovid's instructions and have got to "preferences">"miscellaneous" > "bug device detection"
When I read part way down, it says, "Looking for devices...Devices possibly connected: None" ,
even though my Kobo touch is connected.
I've got Calibre 0.7.28 because Kovid says it's the last version that will work on Mac OS 10.4.11
But, Calibre can't see my Kobo.

Any help?

what is the problem?
your mac won't work when connected to ubuntu? your kobo won't work when connected to ubuntu?
your won't work when connected to ubuntu?
your kobo won't work when connect to your mac?
first of all, this is a support forum for ubuntu linux. if you're looking for mac os support, it's not provided here.
and just who is this kovid you're referring to?
