Trying to remove files from a corrupt pc.Trying to boot pc with a downloaded Xubuntu ISO image burned to cd.PC is not booting to the cd?? Need help!!

Asked by G Coan

I am trying to retrieve hard drive files off a damaged pc. It was suggested that I download Xubuntu ISO image and burn to cd. Then boot the damaged pc with the Xubuntu disk. I can not get the pc to boot to the ISO image. Am I missing a step? How do I boot the pc to Xubuntu? Thanks for any help

You will need to change your BIOS boot order to CD before Harddrive. To do this, restart your computer, enter BIOS, and find the configuration settings for Boot Order. This may have a different name, such as boot priority, but you should be able to figure it out. Change it so that CD/DVD appears in front of Harddrive, or anything else that may effect it.
