How to install C++ package in Ubuntu 8.04

In installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my PC.can you tell me how to install C++ packeges and run C++ programs

There is usually a "README.txt" or "README" file that explains the procedure to compile and install.
You probably need the build-essential package, so execute in terminal:
sudo apt-get install build-essential

Then follow the file.

By the way, before you install it, check about the program in Applications > Add/Remove... Select Show: "All available applications" - maybe you can find already there.

i hav alredy installed ubuntu with windows XP.but there are no apt-get file. i cant get it?
