when using brasero you can put a new image/iso on the disk, with an option, which antomag. comes in a pop-up with: "delete all files", or something like that.("cleaning disk")
try it! :)

Aha! Switched to another computer, and the disk was 'recognized' as a CD-RW. Then, in tools, the blanking option became operable. Fast blanking worked!! Yeah, problem solved...
